Getting Started

How do I link my bank account?

Tap the Accounts tab, then tap Link Account. Search for your bank and sign in with your online banking credentials.

We use Plaid to securely connect to your bank. Your login credentials are never stored by Vero - they go directly to Plaid, which is trusted by thousands of financial apps.

How long does it take to sync my transactions?

After linking your account, your transactions typically appear within 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

We fetch up to 2 years of transaction history, so you can ask Vero about your spending patterns right away.

Which banks are supported?

Vero supports over 12,000 financial institutions in the US through Plaid, including major banks like Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, and most credit unions.

What can I ask Vero?

You can ask Vero anything about your finances in plain English. Here are some examples:

  • "How much did I spend at Costco this month?"
  • "Show me my dining expenses"
  • "What was my biggest purchase last week?"
  • "How much have I spent on groceries?"
  • "Create a $500 budget for dining"
  • "Show me transactions over $100"

How accurate is Vero?

Vero uses AI to understand your questions and search your real transaction data. The numbers come directly from your bank - we just make them easy to find and understand.

Can Vero move money or make payments?

No. Vero is read-only. It can only view your transactions and balances - it cannot move money, make payments, or change anything in your accounts. Your money is always safe.

Budgets

How do I create a budget?

There are two ways to create a budget:

  1. Ask Vero: Just say "Create a $300 budget for groceries"
  2. Budgets tab: Go to Intelligence → Budgets → Add Budget

How do I edit or delete a budget?

On the Budgets tab, swipe on any budget card:

  • Swipe right to edit the amount
  • Swipe left to delete

Deleting a budget won't affect your transactions.

When do budgets reset?

Budgets reset automatically on the 1st of each month. Your spending tracker starts fresh, but you can always ask Vero about previous months.

Privacy & Security

Is my financial data safe?

Yes. Security is our top priority:

  • Your bank login goes directly to Plaid - we never see it
  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • We will never sell your financial data
  • Vero is read-only and cannot move your money

What data does Vero store?

We store:

  • Your email address (for login)
  • Account names and balances
  • Transaction history
  • Budgets and preferences you create

We do NOT store your bank login credentials.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data within 7 days (unless retention is required by law). You can also email support@askvero.app.
